Distinguished local law professional Dr Paul Hutchinson has joined the board of trustees at Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust.

Bringing to the board a wealth of legal expertise, Paul grew up locally and in 2004 formed Hutchinson Legal & Associates Limited, a Bristol-based law firm specialising in Will writing, Power of Attorney and all aspects of trusts, tax and estate planning.

A fellow of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, and an Affiliate member of STEP – The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Paul is renowned for being an expert in his field, regularly contributing to articles, delivering industry seminars and advising a large number of international clients.

In his spare time Paul also serves as a part-time volunteer reservist in the Royal Air Force.

Paul’s addition to the board marks a significant step forward in the Trust’s ongoing mission to create a public nature reserve to be enjoyed by generations to come.

He said: “I am delighted to join the board of trustees at Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust. My family have their ashes interred at the Woodlands and so my links with the Trust go back nearly 20 years. I am thrilled to be part of the Woodlands’ next chapter.”

Chris Baker, founder of Bristol Memorial Woodlands, said: “It is wonderful to have Paul as part of the team, bringing with him his vast legal expertise and his commitment to the values and vision of the Woodlands.

“With Paul’s support we are looking forward to continuing and developing our community engagement, our bereavement support work and most importantly our environmental conservation.”

Bristol Memorial Woodland Trust is a registered charity, set up in 2000, with the aim of creating and preserving woodland areas for public benefit. The vision being that these woodland areas, in turn, become wildlife reserves and that is already happening. The site will evolve into a mixture of woodland, glades and wildflower meadow. Study groups and seminars are encouraged. School parties and respite groups are welcome.

Nestled in the heart of the South Gloucestershire countryside, near Thornbury, Bristol Memorial Woodlands offers a serene and dignified setting for remembrance, reflection, and natural burial. With its own chapel and reception rooms as well as 100-acres of woodlands and meadows, the site delivers bespoke funeral packages.
