Lee Jefferies started out delivering coffins and is now known as the ‘coffin boffin’ combining sales, design advice and digital outreach at Steve Soult Ltd to support funeral directors across the UK.
I’m Lee Jefferies and I work as a ‘coffin boffin’ — sales manager, and manage the social media and online presence for Steve Soult Ltd.
My journey started as a delivery van driver, where I learned the importance of building relationships and providing excellent customer service. That experience shaped how I now work in sales and relationships, supporting funeral directors across the UK.
As sales manager, I help funeral professionals choose the right products for the families they support. Whether that’s advising on coffin designs or responding to specific requests, the goal is always to offer something that’s both meaningful and practical.
Through social media, I connect with funeral directors and the wider public—sharing resources and offering support. It’s also helped me engage and build relationships even more with communities I wouldn’t have otherwise reached.
For me, working in this field is about compassion, respect and support at difficult times.
At first, the idea of delivering coffins felt unconventional—even morbid—but the job showed me a different side to the profession. I learned that every coffin tells a story; it’s not just a final resting place but a reflection of the life that was lived. The skill and craftsmanship that go into creating each coffin were remarkable.
I’ve seen how a meaningful farewell – where stories are shared and memories honoured – can really make a difference. Each delivery was an opportunity to connect with funeral directors.
Strong relationships with funeral directors help support families and offer meaningful coffin designs that reflect each life.
I’m passionate about the work I do and the people I meet along the way.
