Leslie R Tipping Limited is pleased to announce the acquisition of the well-known manufacturer and funeral supplies company Luke Howgate and Son Limited.
Based in Dewsbury, it was established in the 1890s and incorporated in the mid 1920s. The business is well respected and has a long held successful supply relationship with many funeral directors across the UK.
The current owners and long-term stewards, John and Joan Howgate, expressed a desire to step back and enjoy a well-earned retirement. They remain exceptionally proud of the business, their employees and their reputation for quality products, high levels of service and attention to detail.
A carefully assessed succession plan was undertaken to ensure the future of its long serving employees and to maintain the same continuity of supply to its loyal customers. It is with great pride that this responsibility has been handed over to the LRT group.
The LRT group of companies has been established for more than 75 years and remains a family-owned business, with the current owner James Tipping being the grandson of the founder.
Luke Howgate and Son Limited will remain as a standalone business, manufacturing and trading from its two sites in Dewsbury. Customers can be assured that all products and services will continue as normal, upheld by the dedicated employees, and supported by the LRT Group management team.
We are delighted that Mr and Mrs Howgate will be assisting us with a smooth transition by remaining as advisors in the early stages.
We look forward to making introductions to customers and advising of our plans to invest in the existing infrastructure and team. The mutually beneficial prospects for Luke Howgate and Son Limited, the employees and its customers, is of the highest priority for the wider LRT group.
