Dominic Lister, funeral director at Nottinghamshire’s largest independent family funeral directors, A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, has been recognised for his commitment to the community at the Bingham Civic Awards.
Bingham Town Council held its first event in the new Jubilee Community Hall at Bingham Arena earlier last month, inviting 60 guests to honour and celebrate members of the community who were being recognised for their commitment to the residents of Bingham.
Dominic Lister, Funeral Director at A.W. Lymn’s Bingham branch, joined the company in 2009 and has worked for the fifth-generation family firm for more than 13 years. Having already been nominated as a finalist in the AGFD Good Funeral Awards 2022 for Funeral Director of the Year, Dominic’s talent has not gone unnoticed in the past.
Now, just one year later, Dominic has been nominated for his commitment to the Bingham community as an outstanding funeral director, known for delivering funerals with care, compassion and expert organisation.
The nine award winners were nominated by fellow residents of Bingham. Dominic said: “I am incredibly proud to have been nominated for this award. It’s an honour to be part of a team that is rich in experience and diversity, ensuring that we are able to help our local communities in the best way possible.
“With the support of A.W. Lymn and my colleagues, I am proud to carry out my duties in Bingham and provide support for families throughout some of their most challenging times.”
The Mayor of Bingham East, Cllr Gareth Williams was joined by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Norman Mees to present the awards and the Mayor said: “I was delighted to meet those people that enrich our community and make Bingham the best place to live.”
Speaking of Dominic’s latest accolade, Jackie Lymn Rose, Company Director at A.W. Lymn, added: “We are very proud of Dominic and it is lovely to see him receive this award. He is an asset to the team and a well-respected funeral director within the local community.”
