Somerset Willow is proud to announce that together, they have raised a remarkable £25,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer.  Managing Director and fourth generation Anthony Hill chose to support Young Lives as his charity of the year during his term as Funeral Suppliers Association President.

The entire team at Somerset Willow got behind the fundraising efforts through a series of creative and spirited initiatives, including a 24-hour running challenge, a bingo and pizza night, a bake sale, the Three Peaks Challenge and a raffle at the FSA AGM. Each event was made possible by the dedication of supporters and team members, who gave their time and energy to make a meaningful difference.

Initially, the team set out to raise £20,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer. This target was out surpassed by a very generous last-minute donation coming in at the Funeral Suppliers Association AGM, where the target was exceeded by £5,000, all going towards a great charity.

This achievement reflects the generosity and commitment of Somerset Willow’s customers, suppliers, and colleagues, all coming together to support a cause that profoundly impacts young people and their families.

These funds will directly aid the essential work of Young Lives vs Cancer, which provides vital assistance to children and young people across the UK who are facing cancer. The mission is deeply personal for Anthony; at just eight months old, the daughter of a close family friend was diagnosed with a stage 3 Anaplastic Ependymoma Brain Tumour. Over two years of intensive treatment, including multiple surgeries and chemotherapy, Young Lives vs Cancer played a critical role in supporting the family with the basic things we all take for granted.

Anthony Hill comments, “It has been a thoroughly moving year seeing the team unite to raise crucial funds for a charity so close to our hearts. I want to thank everyone who has generously donated and contributed to our fundraising efforts. Every donation has gone such a long way in making a difference to those families in need.”
